What is Community Space? First and foremost, Community Space is a ministry of Community of Christ. We work hard to ensure participants feel a real connection with their denomination in a new way.
Community Space is an online program sponsored by Oklahoma Mission Center that meets once each month via Zoom web-conferencing software. Members and friends alike are invited to come together in a new, refreshing way for a worshipful experience. Since its launch in October 2016, this newfound sense of community has brought people together from across the mission center, the USA, and the world. Each service, while in a new format, includes basic aspects from traditional Sunday morning services, including a moment of meaning (sermon), strengths and struggles (joys and concerns), disciples generous response (offertory), reflect and connect (lesson/discussion), agape meal (in place of communion), and prayer for peace (a daily practice in the Community of Christ tradition). Community Space is a member of the Community Place+ family. |
COMMUNITY SPACE MEETS ON THE FIRST SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH AT 7PM CST

What to Expect
Go for the experience. Stay for the warmth. Return for the Spirit.
When you join a Community Space Online Gathering, you'll be taken to a screen much like the one below. This is your congregation for the evening. Some know each other, some don't. Some are doctors, some are ministers. Some are Americans, some are not.
The Community Space Leadership Team will brief the group on the guidelines (etiquette/helpful information) for the call, and then the service will begin. When you join, you are automatically muted, and you have the option to turn your video feed on or off based on your level of comfort. Opportunities will present themselves for you to participate in a variety of ways (raising your hand, a special "I love you" symbol used quite often, or even actually being unmuted and sharing with the group). Attendees are able to join the call by telephone, smartphone/tablet, or by computer. See "How to Join" above for more information.
